For Whom the Bell Tolle's

Posted on Apr 26th, 2006 by Shawn : Integral Strength Shawn

Have you read it yet?

"It" being Eckhart Tolle's latest work of awakening, A New Earth.

I can tell you it certainly Tolle's for me.

If you liked Power of Now, you're gonna love this. If I may, my advice for you is to go with the audio version. The book is a terrific, fairly quick read but for me the audio version just delivers more. A lot more.

Maybe it's just more Eckhart per minute...I like to toss out the possibility that there's some transmission happening in the audio medium. Who knows but that's the way it seems to work for me and all whom have made the switch.

ET's voice is a particularly odd blend - a subtle German accent, covered by a slight English properness rhythmically presented with the tone and cadence of a Monk. I find it quite engaging and interesting - and wildly effective.

Of course, there's no telling how it will land on you. Regardless, roll with it and you'll learn to love it.

Also, know that he read the entire book, unabridged, which is nice. No wondering what you missed.

I've probably listened to the Power of Now some 25 times - each time is an experience. After the broad strokes of PON, A New Earth is a little like "Tolle unplugged." He simply doesn't leave any wiggle-room as he attacks the ego like GW goes after weapons of various levels of destruction (aka damage).

A New Earth gets two big thumbs up from me. Do pick this one up - it should be required reading for all on this spinning ball.

Oh man, definitely a favorite of mine!  And I agree with listening to it on audio too… Tolle has a wonderful way of transmitting his inner peace through the spoken word.  Thank you for reminding me of this wonderful book!  Namaste.

Sure thing. Yes, he's unique this way. The only person I enjoy listening to as much (well, besides my self ;-)) would be Ken Wilber – nothing like transmission at Mach 3 with an equally brilliant sense of humor!

Shyah!!  I just saw him and Keating (another awesome transmitter of Light) on Monday, and I attended the Nov. 2006 ILP.  Your FIT is awesome!!  And I LOVED the 3-body workout (did you help with the creation of that workout too?).  Your buddy, Rob, did an awesome job, by  the way… but I digress.  Shawn, you definitely seem to have stumbled onto a cool way of living, learning, teaching, and being.  Thanks for your presence here!

Yes, FIT is my monster…Rob's been more than anyone could have asked for in rocket fuel and bringing depth and clarity. Sorry I missed you there – been running the business for the last 18months so hard… and while I loved doing the ILP's it became too much for me… I learned a lot but have to keep my visits focused and stay with it but at a safe distance until I've cleared the hudles and all I have going.

Thank you for your support – and feedback. And for reminding me that i MISSED them both monday! AAAAHHHHHHHHHH….. darn it! You can see where my head is at!

Ha ha ha… Would've loved to see you there.  'Tis ok though… since we live so close, hopefully we'll have a chance to meet one of these days.  Then we can arm wrestle.  Winner buys the other a beer!
